Today Madelyn got to watch her first basketball game! Two games actually. Luke was at a meeting at the church this morning, so Madelyn and I decided to watch one of our favorite girls play some basketball. After a few errands and a family nap (simply amazing) at home, all three of us headed back up to the gym to watch Emily's second game of the day. Madelyn actually seemed pretty interested and she loved all the attention from the Williams girls. After the second game, we all went out to dinner. The little munchkin did SO well considering we were closing in on her bed time!
I cannot begin to say how awesome it was to have a Saturday that we did not have anything to do and that we could just wake up and decide to go somewhere. It was awesome. I just glanced at the calendar and that will not happen again until at least the end of June (if then). Yikes! Ha!
Madelyn is asleep right now. No one holding her. Cozied up in Mom and Dad's bed (with the biggest barricade of pillows you have ever seen around her and both monitors on). This is new (again-there was a time when this happened but it didn't last long) in our house. Luke said that some day soon I will start to "enjoy" this time after baby falls asleep. I know that's true. For now I will sit here clinging to the baby monitor, listening to the sound of each deep breath. I love that girl.
