Even though it has been nearly one week since we celebrated, I am just now getting around to "scrapbooking" our Fourth of July celebration. We had everyone (your cousins, aunts, uncle, grandparents, great grandmas, great aunt, and Aunt Marlo's parents) over to the house for some swimming and a cook out.
You looked so precious in your red, white and blue tutu that I made you.
Your first Fourth might not be one that you will remember (actually-I can guarantee that you won't) but it was definitely fun being surrounded by so many family members and friends.
Cousin Alli kept going back and forth from inside to outside. She was ready to swim the second they arrived. She kept saying "yo schim" (translation- go swim). It was so cute. I can't believe that will be you this time next year.
You loved swimming in the pool with everyone. You are definitely a water baby!
You loved sitting by the pool and splashing your legs in the water with Papa.
I think that you two sat just like that for over an hour.
There was so much good food. Watermelon, ribs (courtesy of Uncle Jarrod), burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, chips and dip and lots of yummy dessert.
Did you get any of it though? No, ma'am. You did try cheese for the first time though and you loved it!
We made several attempts at getting pictures of you and your cousins together, but our attempts were not at all successful. They were more comical than anything!
Once you were in bed, everyone else enjoyed some smores outside and watched the neighbor's firework show through the trees. We decided that we may have to cut a few trees down in the front yard for prime viewing next year.
It was such a fun day with family and friends. The Fourth has always been one of my favorite holidays. I can't wait until you are a little older and can enjoy the fun even more!Love you my little firecracker,
