The Fourth of July, although usually filled with large family gatherings, swimming and cooking out around our house, was very low key this year. We had a big weekend with Kenda's engagement party and most of Luke's family had already made their way home. Madelyn enjoyed the day swimming and playing with Papa and Luke, while I worked on some orders and crafted items for my home show.
It was a laid back, easy and very enjoyable day!
Grandma and Grandpa came over for dinner!
After dinner, we ventured out to see some fireworks. Unfortunately, a huge storm hit right at dark delaying the local shows. We waited until about 10:15pm for them to start but headed home because Madelyn was having a hard time keeping her eyes open. Just as we made it back to the house, we could see the fireworks show starting in the distance! I guess we will have to save that "first" for next year!
