at the car wash

What happens when you mix a sleeping baby with a drive through car wash?
You end up with a wide awake baby who is trying to figure out what in the world is going on!

I stopped taking pictures when the puzzled look on her face turned to complete horror and then worked over time trying to get her to smile and think it was a game.
I'm not sure why exactly I thought she could sleep through the sound of the car being smacked and the rocking sensation that those kinds of car washes give you. I'm just glad she woke up before the blowers kicked on full force!

Mommy fail? I'd say so. Just prepping her for her first tropical vacation considering every time Luke and I travel a hurricane follows us.

ultimate bed head

The longer Madelyn's hair grows, the crazier her morning bed head becomes.

I'm sure she will hate me for these pictures one day, but I just couldn't help myself.

Got any good titles? Because I am all out...

There are few things sweeter than a baby in pajamas.

As I was taking those pictures I remember thinking, "I need to make sure to capture how cute she looks in her footie pajamas. Fail. Not one picture shows off her sweet feet. If her face wasn't so darn cute I may have succeeded. Maybe tomorrow. Tis the season for footie pj's at our house!
My dad enjoys cycling as a hobby and to stay in shape. Despite the fact that he has been in congestive heart failure for nearly three years and his heart has been out of rythm for months, he rides his bike 15, 20 and sometimes 30 miles at a time. I think when we pulled up at my parent's house tonight he mentioned he had just ridden 23 miles.
Once he came in Madelyn got to test out his seat.
MK looked so stinkin' cute in her little Santa hat tonight. She wore it for a few hours before she yanked it off. It's the same one that she wore last Christmas.

My tree has been up for a while but remains undecorated. Yikes. I definitely need to work on that this week. Until then I will just keep dressing the little one in her cute hand-me-down Christmas attire!

Thanksgiving at our house...

Thanksgiving at our house was simple and sweet. Madelyn was surrounded by her Grandma, Grandpa, Gigi, Papa, Great Granny, Aunt Kenda, Michael, and of course her Mommy and Daddy.

We have much to be thankful for, not the least of which is being able to gather around a table with our precious family to share a prayer, a yummy meal and lots of laughs.

Happy Thanksgiving

Dear Gigi

Dear Gigi,
I love you very much. Playing with you is so much fun. Thank you for driving (or riding while Papa drives) for half a day just to come see me. I love the packages you send me in the mail. Talking to you on the phone is always so much fun. I am sorry that I always run around when we try to Skype, but I am just so excited to see you!

I am glad you like to play outside, because I like to play outside too. Christmas is just around the corner so we will see each other again soon!

I love you!
