My sister-in-law kindly let me borrow the remote to her camera (which also works for mine) about a month ago. I guess I still need to return it to her...sorry Marlo! I have always been curious if the remotes work well and if I should splurge (they are $12 so I am kidding- kind of). The afternoon she gave it to me, I was giddy and wanted to try it out. My husband, who is always a good sport and entertains my ideas, Madelyn and I headed to the back yard. We had our winter hats, a big frame, a small stool to place the camera on and the remote of course.
Within the next 3o minutes I had snapped a couple of hundred (mostly outtake) pictures of our attempts at a family self portrait. We laughed. A lot. Have you ever tried to get a toddler to smile at a camera that had several adults standing behind it acting goofy and doing just about anything for a smile? Think that's tough? Try getting a toddler to look at a little black blob sitting on a stool 20 feet away in the leaves!
We had so much fun! And...the pictures turned out kind of cute.

I loved how simple, care free and just plain "us" they were that I decided to make our Christmas cards out of them. They ended up printing a little dark (which was a little disappointing), but that's OK. Maybe this will be our little tradition? Bilberry Christmas card pictures taken by the Bilberrys!
