My dad's birthday was on the 22nd. We had a special evening of celebrating his life and another year that he (and we) were blessed with. Madelyn spent a little while playing in her room while I cooked dinner and dessert.
My dad opened a few presents.
I am pretty sure his favorite presents were these sweet cards from his granddaughters (with the help of Aunt Rachel).
My sister surprised him and drove down in time to be here for the party.
He loves peach cobbler so I made that instead of a traditional birthday cake.
Somehow I didn't manage to get a picture of my sister-in-law (I'm thinking it's because she, like me, is always behind the camera!), but Emmy did enough posing for the both of them!
It was a perfect, relaxed evening celebration. One thing that I have really begun to grasp this year is simply how precious life is. Our time together as a family is something that I will always cherish. Happy Birthday Dad!
I think I could count on one hand how many Christmas pics I am in...because I'm typically the one taking them. Haha
