share it.

I've been really anxious to let the hubs write a blog post or two about his trip to Uganda complete with pictures. I think I have mentioned it about 16 times since he has been home. There are a few things that have to happen before he is actually able to do that:
  1. He has to sort through a couple thousand pictures and narrow it down to his favs (I am sure I will help with this process).
  2. He has to be able to stay awake later than Madelyn since most blogging occurs when she is in bed. So far, no such luck. One night he fell asleep while putting her to bed and I heard a little knock on the door. Sure enough, he was snoring and she was smiling.
  3. I don't really have anything to write here, two just seemed like too short to actually warrant the list.
I have loved hearing his stories. Between text messages and the Parental Care Blog, I felt like I was there with him. Now, I feel like all the little details are just icing on the cake. God has challenged Luke's heart. As his wife, I feel challenged as well. I am so excited to witness the ways in which God uses this experience that Luke has had in the future.

I have always thought that one of the most important parts of short term mission trips is what you do when you come home. You either keep it to yourself and let it be that really awesome experience that you had, or you share it. Let it's impact be greater. Let it's reach be farther. Let God do more with the story He has given you to share.

Tonight he shared with the students. Sunday night he shares with the church. I'm excited because I know that his heart has been challenged and he has been given stories to tell. By being challenged himself, he can challenge others.

Since he has been home, MK has been completely smitten with him. Not that she wasn't before, but when he is around she just follows him around like she is his shadow. They are quite the pair. I have loved hearing him tell her stories of Uganda. Memories he has of Emmanuel. Priceless.

I love this man, our beautiful little girl and doing life with them both (even trips to Wal-Mart!).
Hopefully some time this weekend his body will have recovered a little better from the jet lag and he will be able to share.
