recap

Yesterday Madelyn and I had tons of fun with her friend, Kelsey. I have decided that if Luke and I are blessed with another child, I will be "that mom" that dresses her children alike. I think it's super cute. I am pretty sure if I had twins (which I have always thought would be really cool) they would match every day. The girls looked so cute in their frilly pants...
I could not get enough of Kelsey's sweet cheeks...
and precious toes. She has long dainty fingers and toes. A girly girl for sure. Maddie's little fingers are short and a bit on the stubby side. Maybe they will stretch out in the future :)

We succeeded at tummy time long enough to take this picture. Woo-hoo! Once she was done with tummy time (and by done I mean screamed like you have never heard before until I picked her up) she was pretty sleepy. I put her in her swing so that she could rest for a little while. Her new favorite thing to do is pull her lovey bear over her eyes to sleep when she takes naps in her swing...I always pull it down and she pulls it right back up until I just end up taking it away from her. Paranoid? Possibly. Over reaction? I'm sure. Am I OK with that? You betcha.

This morning Madelyn and I snuggled to stay warm while the temperatures continued to drop. She snoozed on my chest while I started reading Crazy Love by Francis Chan. Right as she was waking up, I could hardly keep my eyes open. I just started repeating to myself, "I think I can, I think I can..." to stay awake. I am not kidding. It worked for the most part.

This afternoon Madelyn hung out with her Grandma for a little while so that I could go get my hair trimmed. It's been at least 6 months since I was able to do that last. It feels good to have healthy hair again. Thanks, mom. Then we all watched the BCS championship game at my parent's house. I think we may be the only OU fans that were actually pulling for Texas. We like Colt McCoy though. It was sad to see his college career end with an injury so early on in the game and a loss.

Before Madelyn was born Luke and I bought her first pair of Chuck Taylor high tops. Hot pink, of course. I could not wait to put them on her even though they are still way too big...
Tomorrow is supposed to be colder than today. Needless to say we are staying home where it is warm...maybe we will have chili for lunch. Mmmm. I love Fridays at home with my two favorite people. We have more furniture shuffling in our future and Madelyn's big screen debut tomorrow. More on that later though.

  1. I have two boys two years apart and I dress them alike all the time! I figured since I don't have a girl to dress up, at least I can make my boys look cute! What a cute little one!
