Well...discharge take 3 equals success. No new labs to keep us from going home. No one hit our car in the parking lot to keep us from going home. Today we actually made it home. For a little while anyway. You see, we walked in the door to an unpleasant aroma. We thought it was that "no air circulating in days forgot to take the trash out" sort of smell. We were wrong. It was the "rained so hard for a week that the entire downstairs floor of your house floods then sits with no air circulating for days" sort of smell. Luke is busy taking care of that. Madelyn and I are busy getting everything together to head to my parents house. The smell is overwhelming and we don't want to take a chance with these premature lungs!
I just wanted to give you a quick update to let you know that Madelyn and her little (I say little but it's the size of Madelyn) apnea monitor purse are doing great. She has started her reflux medicine and swallowed it all with only a few cringes and crinkles of her nose. The doctors were right about the apnea monitor. It is persnickety and loud and goes off on a whim.
Well...I am off to pack us up. So much for being home. Life is good though. We have our little girl, we have each other...for that we are truly blessed.
I'll leave you with a video from our down time in the hospital. It's Madelyn's first interview. She answers questions so well. You will be impressed.
