Happy One Week Birthday, Maddie Kate

We knew that today would be a big day for our little one as the doctors were going to monitor her and make a decision about whether or not to take out the ventilator and let her try the nasal cannula with supplemental oxygen. Madelyn just decided she would do it on her own time. At about 5:30am she pulled the ventilator out. She has been stable since and is on 35% oxygen. Her saturation has stayed above 90% since we have been there. She has had pauses in her breathing up to 15 seconds. 20 seconds is considered apnea. We are praying that she does not pause for 20 seconds!!! Please make this your prayer today. Her IV on her head infiltrated so they had to start one in her hand. It is so great to see her little head free from chords and IVs. She has been listening to her music again for the last 24 hours. God is good. We will keep you updated...
Happy 1 Week Birthday Madelyn Kate!!

"The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing."
Zepheniah 3:17

Grandma spoke that verse over Madelyn this morning. How true. He will take great delight in you, Madelyn.

Back to watching her breath deep...praying for a great day off the ventilator!
